‘Vortex’ by 1024 architecture

1024 architecture’s generative light sculpture, Vortex, is built into the architecture for Darwin in Bordeaux, France. Vortex is made from construction scaffolding, raw wood, and LED strips. The project uses the energy consumption data from its location and converts it into a real-time visual display.

“Merging organic materials with new technologies, this hybrid architectural artwork wraps around and embraces the footbridge between the complex’s two buildings, revealing and enhancing the venue’s dynamic energy while working as a live visualizer of energy consumption.” – Excerpt from 1024 architecture’s website.
