Pepsi recruited creative agency Grand Visual to bring the “unbelievable” nature of their drink to life. The idea was to bring unbelievable events to people all over Britain – starting with a London bus stop! Cutting edge technology was combined with existing Digital Out of Home hardware to create an Augmented Reality event which revolutionised how people saw Oxford Street. The creative team transformed a digital 6-sheet poster to show a live feed of the road ahead, giving the illusion of a see-through display. But as people watched, a series of unbelievable scenarios appeared to unfold, from giant laser-shooting robots, to passers-by being abducted by flying saucers…and it was all caught on camera!
This is a perfect example of how projection mapping can be utilized as a solid experiential marketing tool!
